How to Manage Stress According to the Bible…

by Dontrell on January 28, 2011

Stress is an everyday thing and it’s important to get it under control so that it doesn’t slow down progression!

I came across some Bible scriptures the other day that are related to managing stress, hopefully this helps you out! We all be stressed! lol

  • Zechariah, John the Baptist’s dad, said Jesus would “guide our feet into the path of peace”
  • Jesus lived under constant stress. -John 14:27 and John 16:33

Here are either principles of stress management we see in the life of Christ:

1. Identification: Know who you are. – John 6:35, 8:12, 8:58, 10:7, 10:11, 11:25, 14:6, 15:1

2. Dedication: Know whom you are trying to please. – Matthew 3:17, Matthew 6:24 & 33

3. Organization: Know what you are trying to accomplish.

4. Concentration: Focus on one thing at a time. Luke 4:42-43

5. Delegation: Don’t do it all yourself. Matthew 4:18-19, Exodus 18:17-18, 21-22

6. Mediation: Make a habit of personal prayer.

7. Rest: Take time off to enjoy life. - Mark 6:31

8. Transformation: Give your stress to Christ. - Matthew 11:28-30

I consider the Bible, “Life’s Instruction Manual”… a lot wisdom in there… use it!

Peace
